Starting with your local GP is a great way to begin your pregnancy journey. We’ll work closely with you to ensure both your health and your baby’s health are in the best possible condition before, during, and after pregnancy.
Pre-Pregnancy Counselling
Planning to conceive? A pre-pregnancy consultation with your GP helps identify and manage any potential risks before you fall pregnant. It’s an opportunity to check in on your physical and emotional wellbeing and make sure you’re fully supported as you enter this exciting phase.
During this session, we’ll discuss:
Your reproductive and medical history
Any current medications
Family health history
Diet, weight, and nutritional needs
Recommended supplements (e.g. folic acid)
Vaccination status
Lifestyle and environmental factors (workplace/home exposures)
Mental wellbeing
Referrals to allied health providers such as physiotherapists, dietitians, or counsellors if needed
Antenatal Care
Antenatal care is the support and monitoring you receive throughout your pregnancy. At Trinity Healthcare Centre, we offer GP-led shared antenatal care in collaboration with your chosen hospital and specialist team. Your GP will regularly monitor your baby’s development, support your birthing plan preferences, and help guide your care—whether you choose the public or private system.
